Goodwill swimmers target major success

Jamaica will be represented by its full complement of youth swimmers, as 40 athletes from the Youth Swim team will be on their way to the Goodwill Games in Paramaribo, Suriname, from August 16 to 18. This will mark the second time that Jamaica will take part in the event.

In a press conference held yesterday at the National Aquatic Centre, the members of the team, as well as the management staff, were announced, where head coach Gillian Millwood stated the team’s expectations heading into the Games.

Tuesday June 18, 2019 was a special day. Olympian and Jamaican track star Yohan Blake visited our club at the Hillel Pool to recognize our CARIFTA 2019 swimmers.

This is not his first visit to our club, in fact he visits once a term to see how swimmers are doing, share his stories and give motivational talks. He was last with us in April where he spoke to our swimmers going to Carifta 2019 and promised gifts for our achievers.

He came bearing gifts of a brand new signature spikes that was gifted to Sabrina Lyn and a signed T-shirt that was gifted to Nathaneil Thomas. Our head coach Wendy Lee was in high spirits and so were the swimmers and parents who were present on deck.

Thank you Yohan for showing up to support our club and our swimmers.  These same swimmers will be representing Jamaica and our club later this month again in Barbados at the CCCAN Swim Championships.

Our boys earned themselves a BOYS DAY after topping the table of the male scores at the Tornadoes Swim Meet 2019.

Our executive, VP Roger Roomes and parent Rickardo Gayle planned a day of football at Football Factory on Saturday June 8, 2019.

A number of fathers joined in for the day to support our boys at this event. Present were Captain Luke Mair, coaches, fathers of all our swimmers.  And football was the centre of activities and the match of the day was Swimmers vs Fathers and what a match it was. Fathers won and a rematch is planned soon.

A great day of bonding, food and drinks was had by all.  A great pre -Father's Day activity

Congrats boys and thank you fathers for being there.
