Congratulations to Skylar Smith of Tornadoes Swim Club who has unofficially broken the Jamaica National Age Group Record in the 9-10 girls’ 200m butterfly, an exciting milestone in her young swimming career.
Her impressive swim sets a new standard in the age group and sends a strong message about the depth of talent in Jamaica’s youth swimming programs. This achievement will surely inspire her peers and younger swimmers to aim higher.
The Tornadoes Swim Club has officially kicked off a brand-new term of Learn-to-Swim classes for small children, teens, and adults. Following an exceptional summer program, many of our swimmers made tremendous progress—some even advancing two levels in just a few weeks!
We are especially proud of the swimmers who started as beginners and are now confidently improving with every session. Their growth is a true reflection of their hard work and the dedication of our coaching team.
Classes are offered on weekdays and weekends, providing flexible opportunities for families to continue their swimming journey with the Tornadoes. With focus, fun, and teamwork at the heart of our program, we’re excited to see even more progress this term!
The Tornadoes family proudly joined the Blue Run 5K 2025 on Sunday, September 21 at Emancipation Park, Kingston. This fun-filled event, organized to raise awareness for prostate cancer and encourage early screening, brought swimmers, parents, and coaches together in a spirit of unity and community.
More than just a race, this was a celebration of health, fitness, and teamwork. For the Tornadoes Swim Club, it also marked the first in a new series of monthly family team-building activities, giving our members the chance to bond and grow stronger both in and out of the pool.
