Tornadoes Learn to Swim

A safe place to learn to swim! Our team of experienced professionally trained instructors are waiting to teach you in a loving caring environment. We offer programs for infants, toddlers, children, adults and schools.
Our instructors are trained in learn to swim, pool safety and are fully certified lifeguards. Our class sizes are maintained at international levels to ensure that each swimmer gets the adequate attention and personalized instructions. You will learn at your own pace in your own comfort zone.
Classes are 50 mins in length and are taught once or twice per week.
The Tornadoes Learn to swim coach uses a systematic approach to teaching you the skills you need to learn to swim. With us you will progress through seven levels,each with 10 skills. Swimmers will be assessed at the end of each level and awarded a certificate of performance.

Our Learn to Swim classes are one hour long and open to swimmers as young as 2 years old. Whether you're just starting out or looking to build confidence in the water, we have a class for you!
Class Schedule:
Beginners (Ages 2+)
Saturdays & Sundays: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Sundays Only: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM | 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM.
Cost: $1,500 per lesson.

The levels are:
Jellyfish

Swimmers will develop basic water safety and awareness in a structured class . They will gain water confidence. Instructors will be in the water with the swimmers. Swimmers will be assessed on:
- Front float in star position
- Back float in star position
- Submerge face with confidence
- Three pool entries unassisted
- Bob 10 times with correct breathing
- Streamline glide for 2 meters
- Kick for 10 meters with a float
- Swim for 3 meters with face submerged
- Exit the pool unassisted
- Understand pool safety rules
Starfish
Swimmers will further develop water confidence, safety and awareness. They will learn to swim independently with a strong focus on correct breathing and kicking technique. Swimmers will be assessed on:
- Bob 15 times with correct breathing
- Freestyle kick for 25 meters with equipment
- Backstroke kick for 10 meters with equipment
- Streamline kick for 5 meters
- Jump in pool and swim to safety
- Front float in mushroom position
- Swim unassisted and take a breath
- Swim for 10 meters freestyle with a float
- Understand what to do in an emergency
- Jump and bob for 5 meters with correct breathing
Sea Lion
Swimmers will further develop strong freestyle and backstroke kicking skills. They will master swimming independently to safety. Swimmers will be assessed on:
- Freestyle kick for 50 meters with equipment
- Freestyle kick for 10 meters without equipment
- Backstroke kick for 25 meters with equipment
- Vertical float
- Swim for 15 meters unassisted
- Swim for 3 meters underwater unassisted
- Swim backstroke for 5 meters unassisted
- Scull for 5 meters with equipment
- Tread water for 20 seconds
- Sit and dive
Stingray
Swimmers will be introduced to butterfly and breaststroke kicking skills. They will perfectly streamline and be able to swim independently for 25 meters. Swimmers will be assessed on:
- Freestyle kick for 50 meters without equipment
- Backstroke kick for 25 meter without equipment
- Freestyle swim for 25 meters using bi-lateral breathing
- Streamline kick off the wall starting in submerged position
- Butterfly for kick 25 meters with equipment
- Breaststroke kick for 15 meters with equipment
- Collect an object at a depth of 5 meters
- Two sculls for 10 meters
- Tread for 1 minute
- Understand 3 types of safety rescues
Shark
Swimmers will develop strong swimming skills in all four strokes preparing the swimmers to graduate to competitive aquatics programs . Swimmers will be assessed on:
- Freestyle kick for 100 meters with equipment
- Freestyle swim for 50 meters bi-lateral breathing
- Backstroke kick for 50 meters without equipment
- Backstroke swim for 25 meters
- Breaststroke kick for 25 meters with equipment
- Breaststroke swim for 25 meters
- Butterfly swim for 10 meters
- Standing Dive
- Vertical eggbeater kick for 1 minute
- Perform a front flip in the water
